Seems to be the case with the website. I kept refreshing it throughout Thursday. In the evening got the option to book at a vaccine centre 14 miles away in two weeks time, so I booked that up.

Next day I got a text from my local surgery (2 miles away) with a link to book up there... So I booked myself in for this upcoming Wednesday and cancelled the booking for 14 miles away!

I think it must just be the initial rush.

I don't get how some surgeries are allowed to bypass the NHS system? Really aggravating us at the moment. Friends in the village have been offered spots at a venue 5miles away directly by SMS but they're registered a a different village doctor. We're stuck in the NHS queue still looking at 50+ miles away and when we call our own doctor they just say the NHS is the only system.

Same here. Friends are with a different village doc and they got booked in at the local centre via their gp. Ours have just said to go via nhs.

Our appointments came out of the blue via a text from our GP and were booked straight away for the following day. Happy with that.

same, both mine and the missus got texts at the same time with loads of time slots to choose from a couple of miles away.

I got Crawley when using the NHS site, which is only 10 minutes away. When I then got the text from my GP I got Smallfield (@GG.'s favourite place ) 5 minutes away, but they only do weekend appointments so that would've meant today, and I didn't wanna risk being ill on a bank holiday, so kept my Tuesday morning Crawley appointment.

I had all mine through the GP. But it’s clear the various NHS databases aren’t coordinated at all. I got the general NHS text too, then I had 2 different hospitals randomly book me in for it which I declined but they still called me about 3 more times each weekly. Then at a hospital blood test they randomly tried to jab me again

I’ll have to try and get onto my gp on Tuesday. They tried to contact me on weds but because of my shifts wasn’t able to get through during their open hours then got the nhs text on Friday so been trying via the website ever since.

I was planning a road trip into Wales this morning, but wasn’t sure if it was allowed. Instead I took the mx5 for a dawn raid on the costswolds, starting with fish hill. Its great to be back out on the roads and especially mornings at this time of year.

Does anyone know if we can venture into Wales, the guidance isn’t clear.

yep, the data says the programme of dates is working. The whole point of the staged lifting is to understand the impact of each change so something can be done about it if it all goes tits up.

It's worth remembering that they're only reporting one death today. That death could've been a few days ago. It's likely that more than 1 person died today, but the actual figures take a while to get into the reporting system. If you look at the government C19 dashboard, at the deaths page you'll see a delta between the 'Deaths within 28 days of positive test by date of death' and the 'Deaths within 28 days of positive test by date reported'. Looking back at the chart, if you seem in to the last couple of weeks they're only confident of death figures up to the 25th April. The last 8 days figures can and do go up.

Nhs isn't overwhelmed.
