His argument that it’s a private road would only work if there’s no public access to it otherwise you’d be able to use a phone whilst driving in most industrial estates/supermarkets/new housing developments/shopping centres/M6 Toll etc etc

That's half true. You can drive up and down your own drive on the phone even if the postman or visitors occasionally walk up there. There's a world of difference (legally) between somewhere intended to be used by the public, such as a supermarket car park, and a private house or office with grounds.

I don't really have much of a view on his actual camerawork, but is he new to the internet or something? Surely he would have had some idea of what the comments would be as soon as he started waving the camera round the car?

He doesn't come across as dumb, but I don't think he's thick skinned enough to come up with the idea as an intentional comment booster.

Now I have to admit that I neither play, nor watch Criquet. But I am fairly sure this isn’t the right technique.
