The intro to 2016's game "The Division" is worryingly accurate. Even down to the "No Sanitizer" notices.

Nice though and it's how people are thinking.

As for the economy... who knows.

Well we are 99% sure we are going on temporary redundancy, we get 60% of our basic which is ok but a massive salary drop as my basic is only about 50% of my take home salary due to how our overtime works etc.

I’m still working in Kidderminster so I’m unsure what happens with me, I guess I just finish my job and then go on leave.

If I’m off for a while, me and my boys are going to walk up Snowdon, make a positive out of any forces downtime.

If that doesn’t work, maybe a vaccine or something.

Contractually how does temporary redundancy work? If you don't take the offer, take this p45 instead?

I’m not sure, I think the government pay it from the Norwegian oil fund or something. I’ll have to look into it more closely when it’s announced.

If it stops any permanent job losses it’ll be worth it.

I have daily Zoom catch ups with my team, then a similar update with my superior, so I'll have to be awake for at least two hours in the morning

We've got a game to finish so we can't actually afford to slack off, assuming there's any economy left to buy games by autumn...

No changes to car plans. Because other than a bit of very minor tinkering, I have no car plans
Yup. The government have f*cked us over good....

I've just started with a new client and I'm basically on a zero hours contract, albeit one that pays more money that the ones you get in JD Sports.
Similar boat, although I'm just as angry at senior management and HR who waited until week before last to actually make up their minds. They did of course bodge it and hope the contractors would be afraid of walking. Ironically without the outside IR35 allowances I might as well walk.

Re IR35, if the employer has decided you fall within it and pay you in that respect (IE on books, off books, etc), the implementation of it being 'next year' doesn't make any functional difference, surely?

Also, now that the CEOs sister and nephew are showing symptoms - both of whom work here - suddenly WFH is being considered.

Oh. What. A. Shock.

My dad went to Tesco at 6:30am today - first day that the 24 hour one isn’t open 24 hours to allow them to restock. Except all the usual suspects were still out of stock and he then complained that his usual shopping was £35 more and they no longer give out those fuel vouchers. Bunch of cunts.
