^ I'm not sure if those statements of truth are humorous or annoying reminders but that usage of "already" can be categorized with the aforementioned "needful".

Wow - quite incredible that a magazine would go to all that trouble and expense. Also seriously impressive how well the Audi and Merc held up.

What would the modern equivalent be? Some cunt with a GoPro and a beard on YouTube with the title "10 Things I HATE About My 488 Pista - You Won't BELIEVE Number Eight!!!! :o :o :o :o :o "??

The sensible answer is euroNCAP, the YouTube answer Russian DashCams :D

It's good to see how the old cars fared, for better or (more usually) worse.

Ah you missed my point. The tests in the video you linked to were done by Auto Motor und Sport, a German car magazine. Can you imagine a car magazine nowadays getting involved to such an extent?

No no, I got your point, and no I can't a car magazine nowadays doing similar, but that's partly because euroNCAP exists so they don't have to (and it's creation was probably driven by AMS' tests), and partly because of the rise of t' internet and the reduced finances/power/influence of car magazines. If euroNCAP didn't exist and AMS hadn't tested I'm not sure who would start the ball rolling these days, maybe it would be with publication of manufacturers' computer modelling. Beards would no doubt still be involved but in an informative cunt-free manner.

Correction! How could I miss the obvious? You couldn't exclude Jackass from having made a series with them as human crash test dummies. No idea who would have done the theme tune though.
