No one is indispensable in a company. The higher you are the more quickly and easily replaced folk get.
 you lot are too easy to wind up.

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday off !!
I will, because I won't be checking my emails. The work phone goes off when I get home and it only goes back on when I'm next in the office. I like to have a team that can cope whilst I'm out so I don't have to worry 8-)
Apple do this thing, where when you clock out of work, your emails stop coming to your inbox.

It’s about what’s expected, isn’t it? If the entire company don’t expect you to be contactable, they don’t expect you to be contactable...

I love going away and not checking in. Nothing is more important than my holiday.

Delightful
Yep, although I file away in a folder for a month before deleting. My OOF has backup contacts and says if it needs my attention, please resend after my return date.

Work are getting stingy on mobile phones, they used to offer £35/month for opting out and using your own. Now it's manager justification for you having a phone, else you have to expense an itemised bill with calls marked (no allowance for data) if you use your own. I'm planning to remove work comms apps from my phone entirely and stick to using them on my laptop only.

And despite my best efforts, I ended up getting dragged into work stuff because people are idiots that can’t do as they’re fucking told. 1 conf call and 3 hours work later...

Oh well. At least you now don't come back to find they'd fucked up whatever it is they were supposed to be handling.

It was more someone (not in my team) doing something they were specifically told to ensure never happens again. Caused a fucking shitstorm, which was why they were told not to do it in the first place.

Which is exactly what I told the managers and the Exec responsible. They need to sort their shit out.

I've always referred to it as that, but then I've been working with Microsoft Exchange (and working at Microsoft partners) for way too long.
