I dunno, just after The Luigi'ing, people on social media were posting stories to explain why they weren't losing sleep over a healthcare insurance CEO being gunned down in broad daylight in the street, and this story doesn't seem too far outside the envelope of what people were coming out with. And I doubt they were all lying or wildly exaggerating.

That it's not possible to immediately dismiss it as 'clearly bollocks' says pretty much all that needs to be said about the US healthcare insurance system.

Reading into it, you have to have a legal team set subrogation terms so the medical company can’t come after you for your compensation, so I imagine it’s not as clean cut as the post suggests, but does highlights one of the many issues of the American legal system, and the intertwining with private insurance companies. But as beany said, the fact it’s believable is bad enough
