Seems to be the way everywhere these days
Bye bye Sturgeon
Re: Bye bye Sturgeon
Yes, I'm sure it's absolutely normal that the £100k motorhome parked outside her mother in laws house is owned by the SNP and they definitely weren't spending political donations on themselves.
Re: Bye bye Sturgeon
Husband charged with embezzlement. Wonder how long until she receives the same or charges for assisting an offender

How would she not know what was going on, as both his wife and party leader?

What I can't see anywhere on the main news outlets are the stories about how the SNP changed the official record of what Humza Yousaf said in a speech months ago, as he was reported for a hate crime for being racist (despite the fact that there's a video of him saying it). Which obviously leads to questions of what else has been "edited" in the official records?
AIUI the Rainbow Greens are also threatening to bring the coalition down because of a pledge to follow the advice of the Cass report.
Sounds like it's all turning to rat shit up there!

Yeah it’s not going great for them.
I think the Cass Report stuff is the final nail for a functional partnership between SNP and the Greens.
I’m not convinced that the Humza racism stuff has legs tbh, it’s mostly a political attack imo.
Obviously the embezzlement is the big news and I can’t see how the party can distance themselves from Murrell as he was so deeply involved with them.

One thing's for sure, we need change and hopefully this will be another nail in the coffin of the cult-like following the SNP seems to have.
As for the alternatives....

Maybe not the correct name but.. vote of no confidence in SNP leader

What’s the current feeling in Scotland with regard to the SNP? Is this something they can brush off or will this trigger an election?

Nope, he’s fucked.
They’ll never get a majority vote again now that they’ve pissed off the greens.

He’s going to be around til the election, the resignation was to stop the votes of no confidence.
Genuinely don’t know how that’ll go, the SNP may keep enough of the hardcore nats to technically win but I don’t think they’ll be able to form a government without big concessions to another party.

This was on the Scottish news earlier. They are to end their marriage, but - according to the newscaster - it wasn’t clear whether they would get divorced.
Re: Bye bye Sturgeon
Well well well. Of course he is going down but she hasn't covered herself in glory has she? In isolation the 'how did I know what he was buying' denials are barely credible, but being that as party leader she was one of 3 responsible for signing off the accounts,, plus the other treasurer resigning after not being given access to the accounts etc, I have to say that it looks really bad for her. Sure, he is up to his ears in it, but why the 'no comment' interview? Why deny the treasurer access to the books etc?

It smacks of the leadership not remotely taking their own policies with respect to due diligence seriously. If she knew, she's corrupt. If she turned a blind eye, she's as bad as him. If she 'just didn't know' then she's actually incompetent - you're in the public eye and your husband keeps finding several grand here and there for new toys? That should involve questions.
It's not a husband and wife cleaning team pocketing fivers their finding down the back of the couch.
People have been saying the criticism of her is sexism - and some of it has been undoubtedly. But the rest of it? It's accountability.
The buck functionally stops with her as the public face of the party at the time - and that's before considering it was her own husband who was doing it.
The best part is people claiming it's a conspiracy to harm Scottish independence - what, did the Daily Mail call her hubby up and tell him to nick tens of thousands of pounds and buy a fucking camper van? Fuck off - the press could be entirely composed of the most objectively even handed, fair playing journalists and editors - and this would still be massive news.
