The candidate pool must have been poor, I've been made an offer I can't refuse.
Currently sitting in the car in the (current) works car park having a visual migraine from the utter shock.
Superb mate, well done!

yes Bean!
Is it what you want?
is it at the money that will make a difference?
Is it free of odd CEO/MD/bosses ?
It's very on brand for me - sysadmin stuff with projects, and some light staff management. I've not done that before but presumably they liked how I talked about how your should treat people, etc.
Oh yes. It's a 50% pay jump.
Appears to be, it's a tech company run by techs so no more misunderstandings in that respect, which was always the problem at current place.
I'm still in the car, still feeling shaky

Brilliant, it's about time!
Have they given you a start date yet?

Need to sort references (shouldn't be a problem), then notice, then we'll get a start date.

Big congrats beany. See if you’ve got a handbook/contract from your current job to check notice length times before submitting your resignation. If they’ve genuinely not got anyone who can do your current job they might try and make you do a stupidly long notice period so best to go into it informed

All I have is my offer letter, which didn't mention notice that I recall.
I do need to check though.

And more importantly, despite being a good offer ALWAYS haggle.

If you've no formal agreed handbook then go by the pay interval, so if they pay you monthly then give one months notice...

Aye and remember that notice is a courtesy, if current place gets arsey or tries to make you stay longer then fuck them off.

I've been watching the market carefully for about six months, looking for interesting orgs to work for; the current job was jumping from the frying pan (being out of work) to the fire (abusive employer).
My plan has always been to jump out of the fire and out of the entire kitchen.
I just didn't expect to do it almost entirely accidentally
