Went to fill up (yellow light on, less than 70 miles range left) yesterday and in the end I had visited four petrol stations, given up even getting to one more, before having to queue for 45 minutes to fill up. Local gossip group on Facebook had posts about where there was fuel. Just stupid. Takes so little to cause panic.

If it's any consolation, I just filled up at Morrisons and it was no busier than any other Saturday morning. Easy.
Panic buyers really are cocks!! Bread, milk ,petrol, whatever. #bellends.

Local garage was mobbed but I managed to get some which was good as I was nearly out and need to drive north tomorrow. The girl was saying its been chaos and they have a delivery due tomorrow morning anyway, but are now being told that due to the situation everywhere else it might be diverted elsewhere.
Thanks to the media and morons.

Absolutely mental.
As soon as they made it the leading headline news story on Thursday evening everyone knew it was going to cause chaos.

The press shouting FIRE in a theatre again, with absolutely no consequences for them.

When I am king I’ll just have those topper uppers executed and removed from the gene pool. You just know they’re the same people who stockpiled toilet paper, pasta, rice and bought 2 dogs during lockdown which they’ve already given up to a rehoming centre.

Big mistake getting rid of the dogs with the upcoming meat shortages.

After having a laugh with the staff at the petrol station, I went to take the Navara to the tip and the low fuel light was on. So of course I had to go back to the same petrol station and do the old "you won't believe this, but...."

Harsh. I'd have thought 'spares or repair' on ebay might be better?

Went to Tesco for some groceries and was a bit disappointed that no member of staff at the pumps allowed the 2 ambulances to jump the queue. Must have been in there 25 minutes and the first of them had just started filling up as I was going…

^ In a world where emergency vehicles get immobilized by having their catalytic converters stolen... I know most people aren't wrong 'nes but I wonder if the people in the queue thought "they've not got their lights and sirens on, they're not in a rush".
In other news, it's being reported that the EU is running out of popcorn.

Here in south Devon there seem to be no queues and no shortages. Services on the M5 looked fine too. Clearly some people aren’t just chicken licken.

The news are loving this aren’t they. Just seen the headline that some industry expert reckons it will get worse. Yeah keep on scaremongering.
Anyway I think people in the South East must be particularly stupid as it’s still ongoing here.

The news can fuck off, they
literally caused this.
I know it's authoritarian to say, but at some point, the free press has to have some accountability thrown at it.

Needed to fill up the XC40 as we were setting off for the East Coast on holiday. Local Morrisons had nothing, Shell garage had raised their prices 10p per litre and were out of diesel and V-Power unleaded. They were also imposing a £30 max transaction amount to preserve stocks.
