If you could have bought it without paying the premium over new list, the running costs would be far more palatable.
Finance isn’t a bad thing of itself, but go elsewhere next time and find a proper interest rate, and buy the car at the right price. I reckon a McLaren will harm you on depreciation but nobody’s ever going to say, “You paid £85k for a Boxster?!”
I don’t regret the finance aspect as it got me into the car and facilitated my nurburgring adventures. I’ll definitely be more diligent with interest rates next time though since I’ve now got a handle on how things work and it’s not as scary
Try Alphera financial and Hitachi capital next time

Sounds like you've really used the car as intended and had some great times so well done on doing it!
I've not really kept up to date with all the used prices, so when I saw the thread title I thought maybe you'd made a small fortune off it, but then I got the fear when I started to read it!

Right so i test drove the grey 600lt this afternoon.
It’s fucking amazing as expected. It has such immediacy and is incredibly fast and exciting, I absolutely love it.
The ride is far better than the GT4 which I think in part is due to the carbon tub, which is a world apart from a steel shell I’ve now learnt.
Visibility is a couple of grades better than the GT4 too so that box is also ticked.
Probably the best bit of all though is the steering, which surely everyone knows is hydraulic and is the best steering I’ve felt since I had a Clio 172 many moons ago and that’s very high praise indeed.
I’m looking closely at finance options now as recommended earlier in this thread, but it looks like a deal may be done soon. Although I really should sleep on it.

I remembered enjoying this vid before, and it seems more relevant now. Hard to believe this is at the lower end of straight-line performance in the Macca range - the way it eats the straights is ridiculous....

Great post, and good luck with your new one.
A friend of mine had a gt4 on finance at it was 6.5 percent or there about.
Porsche finance is never cheap.
How much do the influencer promoted guys charge? Yes depends on the car I guess. TGEs GT porsche is probably based on a punt of it sky rocketing in value which is why he doesnt drive it.

I had a quote from Oracle and a small broker for a used M2 a couple of years ago both at 4% APR which was less than the BMW dealer was offering. Interest rates are less now so i assume you may nibble a bit off that.
Wow, that would be some step up from an already awesome car.

Quick update. They offered me £57k for the GT4 as trade in which is predictably under value, so I’m going to sell it privately or through a dealership locally. It’s having a service and inspection at Porsche Glasgow on Monday then will be ready to go. The moment it sells I’ll be making an offer on a 600LT, which may well be too late for that lovely grey one I drove yesterday, but I can’t see the prices of them going anything other than slightly down come late December/January. Hopefully one with sensible (+5/10k) miles comes up too which suits me even better.

How much are they new? (which that one effectively is, with 465 miles on it)
