First week over.
Good parts are that they have settled with the ducks and cats amazingly well. The ducks already come to be closer to the pups and act very relaxed around them. Our Persian just gives them a whack if they annoy her and our Ginger Tom has laid down the law. Now everyone knows their place they are very comfortable.
Both are great with people, they just like being near us which is lovely and if you lay on the floor it’s fair game, you’re getting attacked.
Both sit on command, go into their bed on command but they still need showing at the same time. Getting there though.
Bad parts, it’s proving tricky to get them to know their own names, I think they both respond equally well to Cooper or Hutch
Still a couple of toilet accidents a day, it’s improving but they drink so much due to the kibble they are on it’s hard to keep track of when they need a wee, will get there once we change diet I think.
Cooper is more needy than Hutch, he wants to sit on you when out in the Land Rover where Hutch will relax. With both in there they are great but it won’t be possible in 6 months so will work on it.
I’m not used to a kibble diet, it’s supposedly a super brand but I’m switching to raw again, will hopefully be on 100% raw by Saturday and I think then the accidents will stop, as will the crazy drinking.
Couldn’t be happier with them, they fallen into the family better than we had hoped in the first week. Cooper is more energetic and zooms about, Hutch is much stockier with bigger feet and is more chilled out, both temperaments match the boys.
Cooper wondering why the belly scratch stopped.
Hutch having a rest.
First joint trip in the Landy.
Dave!
