That first corner that just tightens & tightens & tightens & tightens & tightens & tightens…… real trail braking technical buggar that.

It’s absolutely hateful on sims. One of my most hated tracks as the tyres just overhead and die and long runs turn into an understeery borefest.

That was good. Decent amount of overtaking.

One that I’ve never “driven”. That corner appears to offer only frustration though.

Yeah, sprint was good. When Max got within DRS I thought Lewis was toast, but he drove brilliantly. Had the measure of Charles all weekend so far too.
If I could be arsed to go on social media I'd be funny to see what all the muppets who said Lewis was overrated and made stupid predictions about how he was going to get soundly thrashed by Leclerc are saying now. Probably continuing to shout into their computers anyway.
Where did that quali lap of George's come from!?
Looking forward to the race tomorrow. I love these early races, I record them and can watch it all before the family really gets up and going (although 7am is a touch later than I would like!). I'm fucked once they start moving to lunch time.

Going back a bit I didn’t realise the San Diego reference between Lewis and his engineer was based on this
I still don’t understand how that related to pole position

How long are we giving it before Lawson gets the boot?
Going to be a tight season at the top, nice to see Lewis has still got it.

Pressure on him must be intense, not long at all (surely only Checo's backing earned him the time he got), they've generally been brutal. Winning WDC and being nowhere in WCC seems quite probable based on current form.

Changeover will occur after this race I would expect.

Red Bull are in a pickle. The sensible thing would be to put Tsunoda in that seat but I feel like Helmut is a massive racist which is why that won't happen. He was only in that seat to satiate Honda and even that partnership is over.
I wouldn't bother putting Lawson back in the Racing Bull either. Red Bull need 2 new drivers.

I’d be handing Lawson his P45 right now.

Decent enough race, Bearman was great to watch and in general there was a few good battles. McLaren are good, but (albeit I'm sure they're managing pace etc) they don't seem to be completely romping away. If any of the other teams do a good job with upgrades you could see a few different race winners. Still should be a good season.

Norris very lucky. Was staring a DNF in the face if there had been another two or three laps.

Hamilton well off the pace all morning. Even on fresh tyres, he really wasn’t making many inroads
Clearly the Wrong strategy

He was very happy with the car in the sprint race but Ferrari changed the set up for the race which ruined the balance. Typical Ferrari strategy at play.

Seems like the stewards are going to be busy dishing out DSQs.

Yep - both Ferraris
Levlerc for being underweight and Hamilton for plank wear

Having only 1 practice session due to the sprint race so early in the season isnt ideal.
