Aye that's what I'm concerned about tbh. I'm a weird shape so I'm probably best to try stuff on first.

I'll take a wander along to the shop Rev recommended and see what's what. I have a feeling I'm going to be hiding receipts by the end of the next couple of weeks .

That list is about right, although I'd add an enduro as well if space allows.

Fazer is just about to click over 64k miles, still rattling along nicely.
Tracer now on 7.5k miles and I'm working round the budget suspension for now.
GSXR has been out to play a could times, still makes me giggle.

I'll add a few pics when I figure out where to host and how to add..

The guy who owned the BMW before me is steadfast in his opinion that if you can only have one bike, the BMW S1000XR is the one, and all reviews seem to echo this.

But it's ugly so we mock him mercilessly.

It's kind of crazy the performance you can get for the money with bikes. The stuff i'm looking at is pretty slow by bike standards but they are still comfortably quicker than any car I've ever owned.

Aye, I guess the prospect of me owning something that'll do 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds is starting to sink in. That was always my benchmark for something being properly quick, I guess I'll have to reframe that a bit .

No, you'll have to reframe that A LOT.

My KTM does 0-100mph in 5.4 apparently. Not with me riding it, but still...

5.2 for the BMW apparently and again there'd be no hope of me getting close to that. It's when you tell people that it only needs first gear to reach 100 they really start listening.

Dur really? Thanks Dave I see it now!!

KTM looks like a real beast but I'd prefer to have the extra rpm range. Different strokes. With an extra 1500 rpm on the clock the BMW makes the same power as the KTM, but has an extra 2500 rpm at the top end so goes on for longer.

Aye, a lifetime of being the slowest person at the go kart track has taught me to temper my expectations when my weight can actually affect performance .

I'm quite looking forward to bike shopping tbh. I've been keeping myself to online browsing until I've got the license stuff sorted but I'm starting to get more excited now that it's getting close.

It's nothing to do with your weight. Its the skill and bravery required to launch at a bike at the maximum of its performance.

You're in for a real surprise or even shock at just how fast bikes are.

KTM is definitely where it's at Got rid of my R1200GS for the 1290 and the 690 SCMR is going as well.

This. I'm still scared of full throttle on the KTM in 3rd or lower gears. It just goes mental.
