I bet you a multi coloured pair of bowling shoes it will get within a couple of tenths.

ETA- They are a fucker to launch though, a warm sticky surface and the tyres bite and slip the clutch.

I took the 6 to Halfords for a regas last week, prices have gone up £10 compared to last year. The guy who I’ve known for years said it’s because the EU is trying to ban R134a and has started restricting supplies which has resulted in the price of a bottle doubling over the last 2 years and it will keep increasing. Kind of a fucking joke when there’s no alternative...
Anyway my car used up his whole full small bottle which upset him as it usually does 3 hatchbacks so apparently they made no money on it

The price of air-con regassing goes up and down with the weather. Get it done in winter.

Nope it has actually increased rather a lot looking online
http://r744.com/articles/8339/eu_s_hfc ... regulation
Also it explains why my service charge breakdown for air conditioning maintenance has increased so much recently.

And yet air-con recharge at other places (Halfords, F1 Autocentre, ATS etc) don't seem to have gone up. Odd, isn't it? I think Kwik Fit have put their price up a tenner because it's summer, and because they offer voucher codes to discount it...

Yes*

* the tech said the system seemed fine, but I guess we’ll find out for sure in twelve months time.

I'd heard from the chap at the local garage that the price of the gas had gone up muchly (and not just a summer thing). He doesn't do ac so has no reason to spin a yarn.

I wasnt suggesting the price had not gone up, just the cause being the EU restricting supply.

Gotcha. For whatever reason, the price does seem to have gone up disproportionately.

It's been replaced on all new vehicles with a new less damaging gas, but it's twice the price of R134a and needs a new more expensive machine to re-gas cars. My mate bought a job lot of R134a last year so he had plenty to offer re-gases this year at only a slight price increase.

It was £10 more at Halfords this year at £50. Last year it was £40, before that I went probably 6 years ago and it was £25.
