Shapeist!
they're also set into their own grill panel, so they're basically a painted grill and not holes in a painted bumper.
I thought the holes were just for styling in and around that front area which commonly now has sensors and cameras to accommodate and hide?
well they've really done a nice job of hiding those!!!
That’s another pet hate, how can some manufacturers just hide all the radar and sensor units behind the grill/bumper (Tesla are a good example) yet you get premium brands like Volvo and Mercedes with a great big plastic rectangle radar unit or a huge plastic badge to hide it behind
That can’t be good for drag can itCarlos wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 10:54 am It looks worse close up![]()

no point in setting up a whole separate system - they'd only have to switch it back when they start charging for the vehicles that are currently £0.DeskJockey wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 7:03 pm Just taxed the Zoe for another year. I can't but wonder if there's a better way than to print and send a notification letter for a £0 payment. Couldn't the system just automatically renew any car tax where the value is £0?
The sales numbers were fudged (see also fleet emissions), and we should be encouraged to maintain existing ICE rather than this wasteful trend of swapping to a new car every three years.
how would it deal with sorn cars? At the moment the system all ties in to show when a car is off the road, adding code to auto renew would eventually lead to a mass of cars renewing their tax that aren't even on the road.DeskJockey wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 7:18 pm It wouldn't be a separate system though. All it requires is a bit of code added to the management system that checks the registration against the tax band and if tax = 0 it just renews. Wouldn't even need to remove it when they start charging for EVs.
It can check two fields. One for SORN status and if that's "no" then check the tax band. If that equals zero, it is automatically renewed. There may be more factors, but it isn't a difficult logic to work out and automate.Rich B wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:22 pmhow would it deal with sorn cars? or they could just leave it the way it works.DeskJockey wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:25 pmIt can check two fields. One for SORN status and if that's "no" then check the tax band.
