Lotus Emira
Re: Lotus Emira
Ah, didn’t realise it was already on the configurator. And yes. I see that many of the things that were standard have now been made options. Not pricey ones other than colours for paint, seats, wheels and trim but it’s still going to be much better value to find a First Edition V6 in a colour scheme you like.
Making the sports suspension a pricey upgrade is a good thing if it means fewer people spec it. That’s apparently not pleasant to live with.

Re: Lotus Emira
Now I've had a look at the Turbo SE, a lot of the stuff which is an expensive option on the V6 is standard on that (sports suspension, the lightweight alloys, alcantara headlining, even carpet mats - and the optional seat colours are much cheaper). I guess Toyota are charging a lot more for their engines than AMG.
Re: Lotus Emira
It'll be more difficult to "justify" buying a V6 now - the power is the same (and probably easier to extrac in future if desired) and it's cheaper with better spec, better on fuel, and I assume tax implications if you're a business purchased?
Of course, V6 is the only way if you want manual.

Re: Lotus Emira
I think both are sufficiently crap for company car tax that you wouldn't consider buying as a business purchase.
One thing on the manual: the exposed gear linkage is now a cost option. I thought it looked a bit rubbish so nice not to be forced to have that

Id want the sports suspension as id want to use it on track.Jobbo wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 6:31 am Ah, didn’t realise it was already on the configurator. And yes. Re: Lotus Emira
I prefer to be exposed (Matron), but that's a piss-rip price when the only difference is the 2x side panels..... the internals of the centre console (ie the change mechanism) aren't any different.Jobbo wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:45 am One thing on the manual: the exposed gear linkage is now a cost option. Also £200 for "sports pedals". FFS.

As they're keeping the Merc 4-pot at 400bhp (as ScottA mentions - it's capable of more, so you have to assume Merc won't let them

"My" spec came to £99945..... bargain.Matty wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 7:11 pm
Not many - but I speccced the options I would want, and my V6 came to £103k.
@Jobbo @scotta the £cost Sports suspension is no longer just slightly stiffer springs & dampers as it's part of a pack :
Lotus Driver's pack with sports suspension
The Lotus Driver's pack features:
- Track mode (ESP)
- Track mode HMI / TFT display
- Launch control
- Switchable exhaust sound based on drive mode
- Sports suspension
Re: Lotus Emira
Sadly more likely to be sandbagging for the inevitable ev version.

Re: Lotus Emira
Id imagine a remapped 500 bhp DCT 4 banger would be quite the thing on track.

Litchfield are offering nitrons and milletk exhaust upgrades.

Probably better spending the cash there.
Re: Lotus Emira
£2650 for the pack
Re: Lotus Emira
Everyone who's driven that version says it's not pleasant on road, and it doesn't make the Emira a track car. So it's very much less desirable on the resale market.scotta wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:56 amId want the sports suspension as id want to use it on track.Jobbo wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 6:31 am Ah, didn’t realise it was already on the configurator. The Turbo SE has two alternative chassis packs: the Lotus Driver's Pack with touring suspension or the Lotus Driver's Pack with sport suspension. You can choose either at no cost. On the V6 you can choose the Lotus Driver's Pack with sport suspension or no pack at all, which is presumably touring suspension with the following missing:
The Lotus Driver's pack features:
Track mode (ESP)
Track mode HMI / TFT display
Launch control
Switchable exhaust sound based on drive mode

Anyway, you get the pack above as standard on the AMG engined car but have to pay £2650 for it on the V6 and it only comes with the sport suspension. You'd have to really want the manual V6.
Re: Lotus Emira
The one I test drove was Sport suspension on Goodyear F1's as opposed to Cup2's.Jobbo wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 12:39 pm

It was stiffer than my Evora, but in no way unpleasant - rather more compliant/cossetting than Pete's 600LT for example.
Most of the complaints I heard were that there wasn't a big enough difference between the two options - folks who wanted sports wanted it "more sports".
Re: Lotus Emira
I think I'd want the sports as I'm used to bumpy cars anyway. There are two feelings for me when driving a car which absolutely kill it. Awful understeer when pushing on and rolling far too much in the corners.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Lotus Emira
At that money you would have to really want the Emira. You are in a base model 911 for the same cost and a very well specced 4.0 718 is coming on under base for the 4 banger emira.Jobbo wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 12:39 pmEveryone who's driven that version says it's not pleasant on road, and it doesn't make the Emira a track car. Re: Lotus Emira
Could get a 12 month old GT4 and pocket £10k as well.
Appreciate it's new vs used, but still, I'm a staunch Lotus fan and even I'd buy the GT4, let alone your average NCG.

Re: Lotus Emira
Surely the NGC buys the Emira because it's better looking, or a lower spec Cayman for the badge? I don't think they buy the GT4 either way.

Re: Lotus Emira
the grey one on the website configuration page looks epic.
can i have one in grey or yellow please - i don’t really care about the spec, but probably a manual.

Re: Lotus Emira
Bloke on the Lotus forum :
Mine was £81,665 two years ago. Drive away price.
Next month, with the VED doubling, the "exact same spec" will be £113,795.
Nearly a 40% increase. Madness.
I wouldn’t have been a customer at that price.
