What about the DUP control in Northern Ireland? They locked down fully earlier than Wales. But they’re definitely right wing.
The reason I say that the SNP aren’t socialist is that there isn’t any core structure to their policy. They give stuff away because it keeps them popular but there isn’t anything behind that. The only discernible long term policy they have is independence.GG. wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:26 pm So the socialists have proven themselves more authoritarian than the 'conservatives' (I use that word advisedly as Boris is not really a conservative in any meaningful sense). I'll take that.
I think you're on a sticky wicket arguing that either the Scottish or Welsh nationalists are not socialist (or at least not more socialist than the English conservatives). SNP flagship policies revolve around giving stuff away - whether that be prescriptions or higher education. Either that or magicing money to fund an independent country that is not fiscally viable.
3 days of you staying in quick
No doubt, but at least we can get a test quickly unlike last time.
Yep, RR are being absolutely hammered but I think they are higher than they were 5 or 6 weeks ago still ?Broccers wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:33 am Rolls Royce down 65 percent just today - frightening really as the world clearly thinks this is nowhere near being over.

Dave!
That's exactly what struck me this morning while looking at the news on this from around the world, there's just no end in sight.Broccers wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:33 am Rolls Royce down 65 percent just today - frightening really as the world clearly thinks this is nowhere near being over.

Have schools caused a boom in cases? I thought they would, but it doesn't appear to be the case up here at all based on what we've seen at our kids' high school and heard from parents of children at other local schools.Rich B wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2020 10:02 am It seems to be the ultimate taboo at the moment because there's simply no good alternative option, but I can't help but think all the various initiatives and restrictions don't really mean anything whilst we have schools open.
- Pubs opened in July. Cases still fell.
- People have been mixing in smaller groups all summer. Cases fell
-Schools open in September and boom - An explosion in cases.
Bizarre rules about opening pubs for certain hours and whatnot aren't going to stop people going home and being in contact with their children, who have mixed with hundreds of other children all day.
what other significant occurrence happened at the beginning of September to cause cases to rise from a few hundred a day to tens of thousands a day?Ascender wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2020 10:06 amHave schools caused a boom in cases?
