Also - I was like “wtf?” With the throttles, and then I remembered to go-pilot

Following the red arrows over Silverstone yesterday. Only one trace, but guess they only have one with a switched on transponder due to how close they fly

The amount of Helicopters on and out of Silverstone yesterday was crazy.

I meant to grab a screen shot but at 17:00 off, there were 27 in the air between me and Towcester

On Grand Prix Sunday Silverstone becomes the world’s busiest heliport. There’s just a constant stream on one in and one out

I’m sure they all have heat-pump central heating - so it’s fine.

Just had a Lynx nearish by. It looks like it's come from Yeovilton, gone up the M3 starting at the A303 junction, gone through London via the Thames, crossed into Essex over the Dartford Crossing, and is now near Faversham following the A2. :?

Shat myself whilst having fun with some sheep

Also missed the opportunity to take the greatest picture ever of an A400 flying in a valley above a lake :(

8-) Pity about the missed pic :(
Are you looking for additions to the herd or just being local?

They come over and do what I assume is payload drop training at Teesside airport- most of the time they strafe the runway a couple of times but sometimes they’re flying around for ages.

with drakken having a base there its often a eurofighter bombing target- we had two the other day flying in quick whilst doing evasive manoeuvres on the way, proper zigzag traces on flight radar

We also have their Aero L-159 ALCA “honey badgers” in and out all the time that go and play with the raf out over the North Sea

Just a tourist, was making a joke about sheep shagging 😂
I will say most of the 20 limits are utterly stupid, and NE Wales is now ruined in terms of driving fun. Snowdonia region is still good as there’s no average speed cameras.

No, had to borrow the X5 as I mainly wanted to explore the Lake District and there were flood warnings and I didn’t want to drive the Defender 370 miles in one slog. Otherwise would have been in my 6 series.
One of the less wet moments:
Image
Was a good call as I did a fair amount of wading and sections of the B5289 had washed away so it was deeply rutted/potholed.
Then spent a night in Liverpool but it’s really gone downhill since I last went a year ago so won’t be visiting again.
Now overnight in Snowdonia.
I’ve got a bunch of drone footage so maybe I’ll share some screenshots if there’s anything good but the footage is very wobbly - think it needs to go in whilst it still has warranty.

Jaja, likewise (when in Wales etc.). Had a fvckton of rain here earlier so you've not missed anything but had a nice change of scenery 8-)
X5 pic makes me think about winter road trips :(

Just had a Spitfire fly over/past, loop round and come back past at 100ft. (by adsb) :o

I invariably enjoy the Mentour Pilot incident analysis vids. This guy is good too but he focusses on (generally US) private plane/pilot incidents.

He usually provides (cursory) recognition of grieving family, before laying into the pilots, but often with good reason. This one is as mind-bendingly foolish as it is tragic. :?

I had a quick check on ADSBExchange yesterday morning because there was a paraglider going over our garden, quite low and noisily. Nothing appeared because why bother with radar if you can't even be bothered to use a plane to fly?

I saw an early version of this article in the local news yesterday evening and didn't put two and two together - they didn't mention an injured man in a field at the time and the updated article does. It's the paraglider isn't it? Why are they being so cagey I wonder? https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/24 ... usly-hurt/

ETA: here's the earlier version of the article - I assumed it was a road accident: https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/24 ... ar-crowle/
