This is a flattering pic but I like it, it will be getting Amber indicators again and be lower than this.

Dave!

Yeah, I might need that help

Ducati 748 biposto

MOT today. Passed with advisory on fluctuating rear brake effort and scored rear disc - exactly the same as last year. :)

525 miles in the last year is pretty poor though. Shame on me. It has a clutch fluid leak somewhere, the reservoir is almost empty. Will have it up on the ABBA at the weekend and get all the plastic off.

I managed to activate the emergency help on my iphone riding there this morning, so that was an unexpected call with Norfolk Police when I stopped, as they were calling me back to find out what was going on. D'oh.

You're almost there - just change the "dl=0" at the end of the link to "raw=1" and you're golden.

Just to prove it :D

The 500 E is such a handsome thing, I want one.

The garage is also nearly set up as I want it which makes working on stuff a joy instead of a struggle.

Disappointingly some spares are no longer available apparently, the thin wire rear screen being the biggie so I’ll have to hunt for something the same or better. The wires in it are very thin and it looks much cleaner and after so many years the glass has started to delaminate.

That pile there will get you a good car!!

Indeed. But that car wouldn't be a 500E.

Biodegradable bushings, very environmentally friendly.

Cool update.

I thought Mercedes were the only manufacturer which supplied every spare for any car they built no matter how old - clearly Jay Leno is a liar.

Like Ste's Boxster they look right now with amber lights, silver/grey wheels, no stick on tat etc 😎

I'm looking forward to the updates.

That used to be the case, first they stopped guaranteeing parts which were options and now they just do a run on parts once enough people mention it. Very disappointing, it took me over a year to get that wiring harness and it was just under £500!!

I still get a buzz when I’m in it so is worth the money, I may try some crowd funding for the “while we’re in there” fund

Are they the go to place? I have one bent wheel (though if I just wanted one straightened without worrying about a refurb it’d maybe be cheaper to just buy another off eBay)

I had the Audi ones done locally and was disappointed with the end result and how they are lasting. I saw amigo sent his to Lepsons and remembered they were well regarded.

Dave!

Yes, please start a build thread. Detail the costs too, would love to find out how expensive it is to restore cars like these.

Looks as good as I remember Dave 8-)

Local garage cold called me this afternoon, young mechanic asking if I wanted to sell the Civic. I'm intrigued by the idea but cannot think of a similarly cheap to run car that I could get instead? Much as I'd like to go mad and get a 996C2 or something, I need a younger car that will just sit there and work as and when I need it, without needing annual fettling at a specialist.
