I've done a few in mine, it depends on the course a bit, but it's OK. Small & light is better for these events though. Caterhams etc. are always very quick. The last one I went to, FTD was a frogeye Sprite !
Top 4 yesterday...

MX-5

MrsREV’s 420d vert has lost all sound. No radio/CD/Aux/Phone/Sat Nav/Warning bongs. There’s no fault codes in the system, all the fuses are fine, so it appears that the amp is dead. Not great for a 2 year old car.

Under warranty though right? Throw it at them at get them to fix it. On the plus side you'll end up with something 'brand new' in the car.

Yeah, warranty will sort it, but it’s annoying.

Found BMW warranty woeful. Hopefully won’t tell you it didn’t come with sound as an option.

You may be aware of Audi Pepperpots, if not some info; they're 5x100 6x15 et38 and forged.

Some on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... t&_sacat=0

My M2 is the same, fault warning occurs and indicator flashes at 5 times it's normal speed. It only happens occasionally so will try some contact cleaner but interwebz suggest BMW swap the whole cluster.

I wasn’t aware of those, so thanks. Very handy 8-)

(White ones would look best but being round is more a priority)

Impact adjustment temporarily fixes it. Still to call them but I expect they will swap the unit.

So the number plates are off the 500e and the refurb starts!

I genuinely think in my lifetime the ability to have true freedom and enjoy a characterful car will be gone on anything but a lentil sanctioned track day. So with that in mind I want to use the car a lot next summer and will do all the jobs I want to do on it earlier than planned. Then I can take the boys to car shows, a few Europe trips with the wife and generally be noisy and have fun.

So, the list thus far....

All rear suspension linkages
All front suspension linkages
Fit h+r lowering springs and set ride height with spring buffers
Front and rear subframes removed and painted
Any underbody work done where needed
New SLS pipework
Refurb both sets of alloys
Front headlining, a, b and c pillars wrapped in Alcantara and the wood trim either re-laquered or some kind of interesting wrap / paint.
HT leads, caps and rotors, cam solenoids (these are leaking) all breather pipes, radiator shrouds, viscous fan clutch and an engine and transmission service.
Both driveshafts stripped and rebuilt (nothing wrong with them but they are 28 years old)
Wiper mechanism stripped and re-lives.
Fit new lower wiring harness.
Rear calliper rebuild
New boot carpet (I want something tarty and soft  )
Hi-flow cats to go with the resonator delete.
Extend the front undertray to tuck right underneath the bumper.
Full respect in original colour, possibly fit AMG 3 piece rear spoiler but I change on this nearly every week.

I’ve a couple of thousand worth of parts in the boot already, plus new NLA badges etc but I think there is another 10K in there yet.

I’ll do the engine work and undertray when I get home next month and hopefully have 1 of the sets of alloys over to Lepsons.

I can’t wait !!

It is but I want it as good as possible so I can just enjoy it for a few years. It’s not really a short run car, it only comes alive on long shleps so needs to do some big mileages again.

Virtually nothing I’d replace it with within a sensible budget.

I got annoyed at Photobucket going and then an Imageshack account went kaput on me. It’s mainly my inability to function on the internet that causes the lack of pics :?
