Clutch slave cylinder failed on the truck. It had been on it's way out for a while so I had one ready to fit and although a little awkward due to the very recently fitted exhaust exhaust downpipe being in the way It came off and went on no probs. Bleeding was a 2 minute job as well.

You need to buy a lot of parts for this thing but at least they're cheap. A new clutch slave was only £20.

Gales here in the SW this morning and it's a bit fooking windy in there with no door tops on Invigorating though.

I don't know what mpgs I get but then I don't wank off dogs.

I’m more of a cat person.

I filled up the Mito on the motorway services last week and then reset the mpg and proceeded to use full throttle for about 90 seconds - it wouldn’t dip below 20.8 mpg - that’s all the piddly injectors can squirt

Mine will see single digits on the instant read out.

I think I'm averaging 35mpg for the usual late for work thrashing about. Don't think it's any better on fuel than the compact was which is a little dissapointing...

It's urban driving where it's especially bad. Best I've had was fully loaded with roof box at a steady 80-85 from Manchester to Cornwall when I got 34mpg

Scarborough and back at the weekend 37.4 MPG out of my S60 T5 which aren't renowned for economy, wasn't hanging about either.

New fuel filter, TCV and oil catch can removing all the white record stuff seems to have helped things.

Looking at C30 T5s to replace the Peugeot, all seem to be in shite colours though.

Is that fairly normal for that sort of run or a particularly good one off?

I'd find some of the mpgs mentioned questionable but on here a low figure seems to be a badge of honour

I'll have to have a look at my last few fills and see what it's done.

It's about normal for a long run, I'm surprised how good it is on fuel, long gearing helps.

For records purposes, Cayman GTS 27 mpg and UP GTI 49mpg.

Just filled; 293.7 miles on 27.33 litres, 48.95mpg. Doesn't sound worth it compared to an Up GTI , damned technology moving on

Brakes on the bus were juddering like fuck. In the olden days, I'd have slung a new set of discs on it and be done with it, but the internet claims there's no such thing as warped discs, only residue build up, so I set to the discs and pads with the rotary sander and you know what? It worked. No more judder. Bloody he'll.

All those discs from the past discarded unnecessarily. All that time with the dial out gauge wasted.

Fabia ran well all day. Front left tyre is fubar but I had a spare so all good. Another of my spare wheels doesn't seem to be holding air - I think it's bent.

How many runs do you get in a typical event, and how much?

We had 3 timed runs at 4 layouts, which were 2 different layouts run forward and reversed. You got a map and got to walk each course first.

I think the Porsche would be good - lots of traction. The layout was fairly open really so I didn’t hit any cones. Maybe if I got closer to the cones I’d have been quicker...

Cost was £48 and a bit of tyre wear.

I've done a few in mine, it depends on the course a bit, but it's OK. Small & light is better for these events though. Caterhams etc. are always very quick. The last one I went to, FTD was a frogeye Sprite !
