I don’t post this for giggles. What a feckin nightmare.

I’m guessing the main sewer handles rainwater overflow and no one’s thought about possible back flow. Or there’s a major pump failure somewhere and they’re below main sewer level, and again no one’s thought about failure and back flow. Either way it’s not nice.

Basically, for the sewerage to be coming out like that there either needs to be a blockage causing sewage to build up above the level of the toilet rim or an event causing a reverse of flow direction.

And as for it been a new build estate- I would expect it there more than anywhere else as they get thrown up and not a lot of thought goes into failure of these systems

Edit- just seen in the comments a blockage of gravel in the drain. Very typical of new builds
