The efficiency of the budget and CFD cap will be tested this year. Either the teams will all get closer together by the mid point of the year or we'll have a scenario similar to the engine caps where it's so restricted that whoever had the original concept nailed will keep that advantage until the next major rule change. Toto basically alluded to the fact that they'd have gone for a more conventional car design but the budget restrictions didn't allow it. Could be the end of radical new concepts as mistakes are punished so much more now.
I am already of the opinion that having additional CFD without additional budget is a bit silly. "Here's 2 cocks, but you can only use 1 at a time"

Just like every other rule change in the history of F1 the field will close up in a few years, and just as we have 3 teams fighting for wins there will be a new set of rules to send us back to a single period of domination.

Anyway I think it's time for Zac Brown to bugger off back across the pond. He spent all of last year seemingly trying to fit adverts onto the 18" wheel covers and this race McLaren were super proud about having a pair of digital iPhone sized adverting screens which weighed 380 grams for the pair. Businessman first, racer second and it's beginning to show.

There's just no point in this years championship, is there? MV already has it in the bag.

Looks like Toto needs to do something drastic, like increasing the catering budget.

Max out of quali with a broken gearbox. P14 is the best possible position he can start in tomorrow.

I’m glad, looked like Verstappen had a 1 second advantage over the next non Red Bull so hopefully the race will be more interesting tomorrow. I still expect him to be able to win though.

Hopefully it's something more exciting than these DRS overtakes 😂

It’s awkward now as there’s no pit stops left. Maybe they can wirelessly put his car in a low power mode.

I've watched all of this race. It's not exactly exciting.

It’s shit so far even with the mixed grid.

When the focus is on 10th place you know it's bad.

Good for Perez though. I like that he just did what he wanted.

Jos Verstappen looked like he was going to tear Horner a new one whilst the team were celebrating Perez.

This is why I hate F1. Who knows the places at the end. Utte shambles.

Aston appealed the decision to give Alonso a 10 second penalty post race because a jack touched the car. Aston argued a jack merely touching does not constitute working on the car, thus they’ve withdrawn the penalty

I’m happy with that and finally some common sense. I thought it was harsh as you couldn’t even tell from the crap video if the jack was actually even in contact with the car.
