This bit; fair enough with the wrongly spaced ones, I feel a bit sorry for the people with otherwise legal spacing/font/etc.
I saw that on Twitter. I was a bit surprised at the assertion that these plates have never been tested; have a look at Tennants' website:

https://www.tennantsuk.com/true-3d-compliancy-update/

There's clearly a distinction between 'gel' and Tennants' 3D letters, though I'm not sure what Tennants' are made of and they look pretty similar. I doubt a police constable can easily distinguish between gel and other plastic.

I wonder if Tennants' are made of the same stuff as the old ones that were on metal backing plates, so the material/height is already approved?

The second part of my original post related to punishment fitting the crime and comparing the £100 fine for the number plates to this https://www.kentonline.co.uk/sheerness/ ... on-261141/

I wish the gel plate wankers had to re-sit their driving tests as punishment too.

Does seem lenient.

James Blunt really is a national treasure.

Background - in case you aren't aware - is that artists are threatening to remove their work from Spotify if Spotify don't remove Joe Rogan, because he's a misinformation spouting gobshite (I'm paraphrasing). Blunt has the real threat though.
