I did wonder about people doing the nose swab themselves as the swab felt to me like it was scraping the bottom of my brain, so I’d be amazed if anybody could do it correctly on themselves?

I have to do it weekly... I doubt I am doing it properly to be honest but I imagine they factor that in. It is ridiculously easy though - post it off and results texted back in about 48 hours!

Anyone tried to get a dentist appointment? Surprisingly I got a call back from ours to maybe get a repair that has failed fixed. The poor guy said he is being told different things each week. Last week they could do it as it involved a drill to shape, this week they can't.

Last week the water droplet size was 3 now its 1.6 in whatever measurements they use.

The transfer rate here is also just as high as it was before lockdown and we are all in grave potential danger of maybe getting a cold.

I had my original routine check-up cancelled back in April. I eventually managed to get to get a check-up about 2 weeks ago - Very strict process in place when I entered of temperature checking etc and I was warned that if I needed anything doing they'd have to have me back on another day. Luckily I'm fine so they just checked me over and sent me on my way (out a different door to where I went in).

Apparently now they are only allowed to do extractions and can only see people in severe pain - made me laugh the thought of loads of people with missing teeth then suddenly it twigged its not actually a laughing matter especially with a crappy ruined smile

Been waiting to have 2 fillings done since March.

My stepdaughter has been back at work in a dentists since the start of July.

They’re doing routine checkups and work, just temp checks on entry and face masks on at all points until they’re actually looking in your gob.

She’s private though, no doubt nhs are different, just like everyone else getting told to go back to work while all the government departments are still using corona as an excuse not to do anything....

Is that true? Those I know working in the civil service have been incredibly busy all along trying to keep up with changes in policy. Do you have any examples?

I haven't heard anything official but have heard plenty saying that those in the NHS are essentially sat around with nothing to do, and that there's a great deal fo frustration at not being able to get back up an fully running again, in particular with regard to elective ops.

I suspect it's the unions again, as it is with the whole debacle of schools going back.

NHS staff I know are all working normally (but with more PPE), who is sitting around doing nothing?

I'm only regurgitating what I've heard via friends and family and via local news reports, hence it might be largely untrue. It might be changing as we speak, but a lot of places locally haven't been undertaking elective procedures. Some seem to be just restarting.

My Mrs hasn’t had any child maintainance from her ex husband for her son for three months. She can’t speak to anyone on the phone, all they do is tell her to fill in a web form, she’s had a letter saying she should speak to him directly to ask for the money despite them having on file that he was an abusive parted and she doesn’t have any contact details anyway.

Virtually every .gov page you go on says they’re running restricted services And may be delays due to coronavirus.

My Mrs works for the nhs and has been trying to get back to work for the past month and hr and occy health don’t know their arse from their elbow and come to a decision about what she should be doing and keep telling her to extend her sick certificate in the mean time.

That sounds frustrating to say the least. Is it the local council that's at issue on the first part and the individual trust on the last?

Covid notices are everywhere, don't know that they're being used as an excuse, but my experience is that some of our customers were very poorly prepared and struggled to get up and running remotely. Although we're months down the line I suspect many still struggle.

F*cking hell, just had to pop to B&Q and it seemed like everyone was out to get me. Have they changed the rules on blind people being given driving licenses during lockdown or have just people forgotten/given up how to drive?
