No, it's the iphone XS camera lens. It seems to have a mild fish-eye effect on the non-zoom lens.

I've been annoyed by rattling glass on the windows when the roof is down for aaages - but not enough to justify pulling the door cards off to find out what it is.

Turns out if you remove the exterior rubbing strip, there's access to the window rails down there and you can set the pretensioning on the glass, which is almost certainly what it is.

That's a lot easier to do, so I might actually end up doing that this weekend after I've done a tip run.

As per below. The chrome on the old kidney grills was the only chrome on the car and imo looked out of place.

Ive also got a set of the M Performance foils to go on the sills. I think im going to pay someone to do them however as thats easily arsed up i the alignment is off or it gets filled with bubbles.

All the coilpacks I took off the X5 last night were dated 2004, so I think they've done pretty well and it was well worth changing them all.

I've no real opinion on it. I guess she wanted one and they wanted it lower. So they probably did that. He did say he's infected his wife with the same affliction over the years and she complained the arch gap on the standard car was too much. Amongst their other stuff she also has a red Golf 7 GTI on air.

The only thing is when you slam a car right down the gaps between the sides of the wheel and arch end up looking much greater than before on most cars which looks worse imo.

Since I got the mito, for the first time in the 12 or so years we've been together both the mrs and I are driving cars with standard suspension.

This needs sorting asap tbh.

I'd love to stick bags on the merc, but decent kits are still pretty spendy, and not sure I want to mess it about too much.

Exige in for service and MOT. Flying colours etc.

I’d asked them to look at repairing passenger door as it could only open from the inside and the outside barrel had gone previously on it. Somewhat embarrassing for them to phone back to say that it wasn’t broken, but I’d simply deadlocked it.

Got told off for not using it enough, as the brakes needed stripped and cleaned up and the radiator fan was a wee bit sticky. Done 3000 miles since last service (with over a third of that being done over the course of one weekend) - I suppose they have a point.

It also needed new boots all round, so opted for a change and fitted 4 MPS4s (non S). So far, so good. Feel every bit as grippy as the previous P-Zero Corsas, but it seems to ride a little bit better too.

Only thing I was told to keep an eye on is the Y-Pipe, as it’s looking a bit grubby. Quoted 700 quid to replace, so if I need to replace it, it’ll have me thinking about looking at manifolds to boot...

The X-type despite being a cheap buy has cost me a fair bit in the last couple of years as a lot of the suspension was knackered (problems with a heavy beast not looked after properly I guess) but swapping some bushes and some new control arms took care of the worst of it.

On a trip back from Yorkshire, she blinked on the check engine light. Went into Isis of Oxford (no really, it’s also the name of a river) who diagnosed a lambda sensor. But also transpires I munched the rear tyres through and it wound up being a £700 visit.

Frustratingly just the next day I noticed the offside headlamp had gone. This is a tremendous pain in the arse as it is extremely difficult to replace (there is a video on YouTube where they take the bumper off to do it!) so it was back to Isis again for their expert help. Got some brighter bulbs to replace the notoriously terrible Jag units while I was at it.

Worked out how to get the rear seats to actually clip into place, after six months of them flopping around (they were like that when I got the car)

Turns out you have to push them down really, really hard to make them clip into place.

I had erroneously thought the clips were broken, but took the seat out fully today to have a look as it was sunny and warm - and yup, clips there. Gave it a proper smack and click, in it goes.
