I saw that. My appendectomy was shitty and had some shitty complications so I feel for the guy. I was knocked off my feet for 2 weeks and broken for longer than that. Alex is fit, though so hopefully he'll be back in the car soon.

One of the other issues with the safety car is that Danny Ric stopped the car near a gap in the fence and the marshals assumed that they could push it out of danger. Unfortunately, it had locked in gear and the buttons they have on the outside of the car wouldn't unlock it.

Latifi is out.
About bloody time really. I saw these stats the other day:
Given where De Vries and Albon, and Russell before them, have managed to drag the car to, it's hard with Latifi in the car to know just how competitive it might be or not!

There was a period during the second part of last season where he did put in some performances watch were pretty close to Russell.
Then he put it in the wall in Abu Dhabi and has been really poor this season.

I found this quite incredible.
Watch Senna in isolation and it looks impossibly fast. Sounds great, and the manuel shifting is fabulous.
But then you realise the margin by which the (shit sounding) more modern car is mauling him. Wow.

Old track looks much much bumpier, don't think that's all down to whatever camera stabilisation the new footage is using. Senna's head it bouncing much more?
Anyway, obvious answer is obvious, F1 would be MUCH better with H gate manual V8-10-12s.

Senna's hands are always moving through the corners while Vettel is just picking a line and the car goes where he points it.

Presumably largely down to the downforce? F1 posted this clip pf LeClerc in 2019 turning into 130R one-handed

Senna was famous for that though wasn’t he, he liked constantly mashing the throttle on and off through a corner too.

As if latifi got lost, went the wrong way and then tried to blame the car

It's a little bit annoying that they red flag the race when no cars are even running in full wets. The teams and drivers make a judgement as to what tyres to be on, if drivers are binning it because they're on the wrong tyres I don't see that as cause to stop the race. If lots of people are coming off on full wets then fair enough.
