It looks like a few states are starting to get a hint of blue now that counting has started again. I wonder if the supposition that a lot of the mail in voting favoured Biden will stand up.

The BBC seems to err on the side of caution with its results. Other outlets seem to be a little more gung ho.
Some American networks are calling States even though there are still a lot of votes to be counted. I've been watching CNN who have been more realistic.

Trump is a cunt of the highest order and he's going to get beaten!

Biden is 3/10 on Betfair now. The orange Oranguchild is 5/2.
Biden shortening even further at 1/5

Trump 10/3

My wife was saying that one day she'd like to move out there. A cousin of hers has married a famous sports presenter from one of the TV networks and loves it. I just see it as a broken, unsafe crack den run by lunatics, liars and racists.
I think the answer lies with how wealthy you are, I imagine it's a lovely place to live if you're rich enough. :)

Aye I have family there, living rich in Texas and they love it. Seems like a nightmare if you can't afford to live like that though.

The BBC live feed has been very poor today, not much insight at all (even acknowledging that the US has been in bed for most of the day). I'm having to use this thread to get a feel for what's happening. :D

I'm mostly just following it on Twitter, I have the Guardian's page open to keep a track on the count but that's not updated since everyone went to bed

Things do seem to be slowing heading in Biden's direction, but obviously Trump is really going to start focusing on the issues with postal ballots that he's already sowed the seeds for. I see he's already tweeted that he doesn't understand how he had leads in several states but now doesn't, so you know, FOUL PLAY! aka.... they're counting votes.

Biden is less of a cunt but potentially worse for us in terms of trade deals. I don’t think America will be any different though, higher taxation aside. Same shit healthcare, same shit racism and same shit gun crime. The previous presidents couldn’t sort it and Biden seems no different.

I think most people who voted for Biden are looking at it as a vote for things not getting worse. Which is a rubbish situation to be in tbh.

I'd also forgotten that Trump had been encouraging his voters to vote in person as the whole mail-in thing was a sham. Now he's wondering why there's large Democratic surges in counts from mail-in ballot forms.

I know there is some biased reporting but Biden makes Trump look like a young whipper snapper, he just doesn’t look capable of any stress at all.

Yeah we have a bet going on that Biden will not survive a full term if he wins.

The thing is that the US political system is so large that there's no reason for the president to be running around stressed.

The reason that Trump makes such a meal of it is that he is very stupid and doesn't listen to his advisors.

President of America must be one of the most stressful jobs in the world with all eyes on you all the time.

Nah. I'd argue less, as there's much less micro-management of their own country to deal with as so much is dealt with at a state level.

It's a stressful job but Joe Biden has been around the white house for 30 years, he knows what to expect and I'm sure he'll use the systems in place properly. Rather than farting out all of his policy as tweets at 2 in the morning then figuring out if it can actually be done

Also what Swerve said.

Why would he be stressed, when he's spent a lifetime surrounded by people who won't call him on his shit?

From what I’ve seen on TV I wouldn’t trust him to walk my dog let alone make important decisions. He seems away with the fairies.

It somehow makes our choice recently seem quite impressive and that’s all quite depressing.
