I did apologize, I just thought if anyone's going to strip it when it (inevitably) goes for scrap, it might as well be you.

Thats ok, I wasn't having a go, just amused at how many other folks that know what I do think I might be interested in a pile of scrap

Low ball offer, throw in some headlights, lick of paint and mount it up as your new signboard outside your unit

So a hijack, while we're talking all things Lotus.
For £35k, for primarily road use, would you go for a nice, later spec Elise Sport 220 or a slightly earlier V6 Exige? Not for me, my money's tied up.

I’d assumed Exige V6s weren’t available for £35k but it turns out they are! Get the Exige

Same. But you won't get the choice of many for £35k. Prices have really lifted since Lotus stopped making Elise/Exige and have nothing in their current lineup that comes close to replacing them.

I love how that one is described as "5+ owners".
So is that 6? Or 9? Or 22?

Yeah it’s not the best ad…
£40k upwards is where it’s at

Also, where have all the Evora Sports Racers gone? Hens teeth.

I’m sure the V6 Exige has appeal but it looks like a Noble copy of an Elise, particularly from behind. Hard to get over that for me.

There was only around 100 UK models in the first place, but yeah - there was "always" a couple for sale in the past.

i’ve been looking every day, i’d want something finished though- even though that engine does sound good!
i might ask him for some more pictures - though the lack of MOT does paint a picture of what state the car is probably in!

Genuinely excellent engine, identical spec to duncs, but the rest of the car was put together by a bodger, i'd probably want 10k to make it right.

i’m not a big S2 fan, but this has some appeal - do you remember it Dan?

I know it well, chap lives 10 minutes from the unit. Lovely car, meticulously looked after and wants for nothing.
A very worthwhile purchase if you want something that's the equivalent of fit and forget in vehicular terms but I can't think of an appropriate saying right now
