I had some long runs and got 268 miles out of a tank (200 ish is normal). I did the maths because I thought it might be “decent” mpg...

Well, that's your own fault for running a 4L high performance V8. Swap it for a small turbot shopping trolley and you'll see that number rocket up.

Pootling aboot town in the Mondeo I'd get about 30ish if it was all short trips without a long run. It'd average 40mpg on a brisk, long run (cruising about 85), higher if you were gentler with it.
around 18mpg around town in the 330, which as I've said before, is due to a mix of short runs and steep hills mostly.

i did drive past a grey 17 plate M2 for sale yesterday that had me thinking. Then I remembered that I don’t have any money any more...

A crap load of the vehicles are private hire nowadays. Poorly driven Ubers or Carrot Cars or some other shit most of which are hybrid. In the parking for my apartment there’s 400 spaces and I’d say only 15 ish electric cars.

860 miles on the M140i now, and loving every mile. I find myself driving it in Sport mode quite a lot, even though it's a harder ride (made worse by these cocking runflats) just because the gearbox is so well calibrated it's always in the right gear, and doesn't hang on to a lower one for too long if you're just cruising.
Plus it makes the exhaust pop on the overrun.
I washed it today for the first time, and was reminded how much of a bitch washing black cars are when there's a bit of sun out. Still, it looks mighty fine.
I really want another 500 miles at least before my Snetterton track evening in a couple of weeks.

How do you find the LED headlights? do they move with the steering?

Not unless you've specced the optional adaptive LED headlights. But they are very good.

I Have Sport configured for drivetrain but not chassis. Dampers only firm up in Sport+. I find that most of the time if I'm in town I'll have it in auto & Sport, then out of town I'm in manual and DSC off as this allows a nice bit of clip without any interference. Sport+ only seems to be if I'm on a nice road and I can really get a move on.

but I got sick of keeping it clean on my Merc.
