Craig did the inspection on my Evora and basically managed the handover of a private car he had absolutely no financial involvement in, other than the fact he'd serviced it a couple of times.mik wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:25 pm I am in the correct city, but I can't claim to be an Elise expert.![]()
Can you ask him to offer an Evora for sale instead? If yes - like George Michael - I'm your man.
Craig Moncrieff (indie based in Edinburgh) does inspections. I've never used him for this but it might be an option for you to consider?
He even had it full valeted and picked me up from the station when I travelled up.
Honestly can't say enough good things about them, so Rich he's well worth asking if you want advice.

Ran my S1 about 130 (whatever standard LSS height was) and my S2 on Nitrons was 135.....never had an issue with either, plus they look awesome

If you buy it, do I get a prize for saying it’s the right one on the second pageZedLeg wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:45 pm A particularly racy S1 on my way to work has convinced me that it’s only that or an Exige S1 for me.

Lovely looking car in a great colour but the silver one will be a lot better to drive. 40hp absolutely transforms an s1.

Would the throttle bodies/cams/etc on the grey one not add anything?dan wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 4:34 pm Lovely looking car in a great colour but the silver one will be a lot better to drive. 40hp absolutely transforms an s1.
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Yep - i would expect its pushing circa 150-160 bhp based on the mods.
Engine
ITG Carbon air filter
KiwiRog (Sabre) KR1 head
Newman Ph2 cams
Janspeed 4-2-1 manifold
Janspeed flexi and exhaust
Cat replacement (I still have the original of course)
Larger diameter throttle body
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Oh yeah I missed that, definitely a nice improvement, probably closer to 140 - 145hp in the real world but still enough to make a nice difference. Go for it!

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
The silver one sounds very healthy (but scruffy) and chatting to the owner i learnt a lot, but the grey one has a MUCH nicer interior (to me!), a front clam that’s been resprayed recently, and - it’s £2.5k cheaper…
but, it’s in glasgow.

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Got another factory fresh s1 in today for a cambelt service, 44k miles and completely unmolested, still on the original MMC brakes - owner looking to sell, no idea what its worth but its a very tidy car.
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
You should go into sales Dan; you’ve got me wanting one as nice as that sounds. What colour? All original spec I assume?dan wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:26 pm Got another factory fresh s1 in today for a cambelt service, 44k miles and completely unmolested, still on the original MMC brakes - owner looking to sell, no idea what its worth but its a very tidy car.
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Azure blue, its very original - a bit too much so underneath to be honest....now i've got it up on the ramp I can see all of the running gear is a bit crusty so it would definitely benefit from a refresh in the near future. Its very clean externally though, even has the original windscreen!Jobbo wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 3:38 pmYou should go into sales Dan; you’ve got me wanting one as nice as that sounds. What colour? This whole thread is dangerous. I've spent far too much time watching Lotus content on YT these last few weeks due to this.Jobbo wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 3:38 pmYou should go into sales Dan; you’ve got me wanting one as nice as that sounds. And browsing Autotrader. For research. To help Rich, obviously.
