The V6 was the first VAG DSG - only gearbox available with that engine. I’d not be keen to have a first gen DSG which is 15 years old.
Not true, there are manual v6 mk1 TTs

Aye, quite rare and usually pricey. It'd be my choice for a TT because V6.
Also, I'm here for posterity due to Si being corrected.

There are 6 V6 TTs on AT, all of them are manual.

Alright....rarer !
On PH, all 7 for sale are DSG. On eBay, there are 27 for sale and only 4 are manual on my search.

The problem is often with how they're listed. Some people class a dsg as a manual.
Looks like the autotrader app categorises all 'TT v6' as a manual only model, so the dsgs must come under something else.

Since it was never called a V6 by Audi you’re better off searching for the 3.2 based on engine size on Auto Trader. Loads of DSGs, half a dozen manuals. I hadn’t realised it was ever offered as a manual in mk1 V6 form but it was definitely launched as a DSG only.

Looked at this the other day to see how the tax worked on these. If a later mk 1 the manual is more tax

Buy one on a 55 plate or older, as most of them seem to be anyway

The dsg is cheaper Mk1 or 2 thats the point. Just something to look out for if you are buying one
A revised Mk2 2010 + TT roadster with mag ride facelift is maybe a better buy @ 8k will be higher miles tho. One thing I have noticed on the Mk2s is the lack of options on most cars like auto lights and cruise.
The dsg also seems to need looking after a lot and water pumps seem to be a frequent consumable.

I quite like the idea of chopping and changing a load of sub £5k interesting cars. It would just be the selling that I could not be bothered with.

If you're not that specific on what you want and buy well you can get to drive lots of cars you might not want to keep forever and make a few quid in the process too, or at least cover your costs.
I like the idea of it, I just can't be bothered selling stuff
