Why not? Why does he buy it? I'd not buy it it’s so childish. Why is he not like me? I don't get it? Why does he like different things? We must all like the same things - the things I like. I don't get it.ste wrote: Tue Feb 19, 2019 6:51 pmYeah, one you still own a cool car, the other you're an adult with some plastic children's bricks in a box.McSwede wrote: Tue Feb 19, 2019 6:31 pmCan someone explain the difference between this and buying Lego and not building it??JLv3.0 wrote: Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:20 am Why not? Neither do I...
That said, my brother and I have a full original Meccano '10' set (in the wooden drawers, identical to this), also separately with clockwork motor, electric motor with gearbox and finally real steam engine. It's amazing and I'll never part with it, but it doesn't get 'used' as such. It's just a lovely thing to have.

Buying a car and not using it isn't quite the same as not using a toy, there aren't many people collecting cars and keeping them in the attic. And I bet the Lego gains value more than most cars.
I have no issues with people not using cars btw, just biting cos telly is shit and I'm a little bored..

This thread should be in the 'cars' sub-forum.

I used to use it when I was old enough not to damage the pieces when I was a child, but TBH we've sort of forgotten about it a bit (it sits at my parents house).
I want to get into it again - probably after I've built my extension and have a new office/'play-room'. (that'll also house the scalextric and model trains).
