Any Exige without a roof has always been wrong, wrong, wrong.
It’s called an Elise
The different clams and spoiler give it a different look to my eyes.
I'm toying with the idea of an Exige this year but hard/soft top is a difficult one. I've never seen the point in a two seater car where you can't remove the roof, it's an impractical car to start with so you may as well make it a bit more so. But the hard top looks FAR better..
Not sure about now, but not so long ago one can buy a 996 GT3 Cup for that. Then send it to Tuthill, make it road legal and do tarmac rally / hill climb.

You can buy a 997 cup for that..
In fact less than that as I was offered one the other week, but it’s not as quick as the Loltus & Running costs are in another league

S1 Exiges don't seem to be shifting though - few been hanging around for quite a while.
Not really an investment anymore, and too expensive to be used?
You have had experience in both... are the Exiges just a Elise with fancy dress? Or are they more special than that?
Cobalt blue is a lovely colour.
I'm probably over-simplifying it, and no doubt some owners would disagree, but it's very much a hard-topped, more extreme Elise. It really needed to be pushed hard to find any enjoyment, whereas the Elise I found to be fun at any speed. It was like an oven in the cabin, and practically zero visibility to the rears or rear quarters. Mine being on AO48's didn't help, I guess. Nor did the fact it kept braking down with electrical issues.
I'd love to try a Honda'd one on road tyres. With working A/C
One thing I will say, they look just awesome from any angle. Easily the best looking car I've owned.

Yeah, I think that’s the problem with these cars, unless you live near Oulton Park / Knockhill thus having Welsh roads or the Highlands at your door step, they are too single-minded whereas 911/Boxster/Evora etc are more versatile.
Agree about Honda’d with a/c and its aesthetic though.
Didn’t even know Lotus made them in cobalt blue until I saw the advert. Money no object that’d be the one for me. Change to some gold wheels and it’d be perfect

Bargepole, do not touch with. Apart from the looks a 400/variant thereof is the way to go.
Hmmmmm, interesting. Next time I visit Snetterton you’ll have to come and tell me all the gossip.
Indeed, hopefully next time I won't be wandering a garden centre in a howling gale.
That or some sort of forum curry dinner catchyup in Norf/Cam/Beds area.
