Looks better not in DCR but still definitely not an improvement on the rear lightbar/bumper/engine cover on the 991.2 is it.

I think it looks quite nice and pretty much as expected. If we're going to discuss the classic 911 shape being distilled, that ship sailed many many years ago.

Remember the gnashing of teeth and wailing of, erm, whales when they switched from being aircooled to watercooled? - get over yourselves, fanboys!

There are some better pics of it here.

I think it looks fine, not big on the new spoiler arrangement but it's not a carbunkle.

You'll all be jostling yourselves to the new GT3/2/R/RS a year or two from now anyway .

Looks awesome, and the comments are right on point in that article.

It looks more like a 991.3 than a whole new car.

The spoiler looks a bit like a RUF 991 when deployed. It’s cool, I like it.

Haha just reading the comments in the Jalopnik piece
“I said it elsewhere, but according to the fanboys, the last “true” 911 has been the one before the one currently on sale for as long as I can remember”

This is so true, with the 997 it was the 993, then the 991 came out and people were going on about the last analogue Porsche being the 996, now we have 992 so GG and a whole bunch of other 997 owners are saying the last true 911 was the 997

I can't stop staring at the make, model and spec all attached to the back 🙄

Reviews are out

https://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/911

TL;DR - 4.5/5. Saving the extra .5 for Manuel/GT cars probably.

Interestingly, if you look at the glasshouse it hasn't changed that much. Most of the extra girth appears to have come from below the waistline.

I watched Chris Harris's video on the train this morning. It's a great car, no doubt, though the door handles are nonsense. Might have to be painted black, though, to avoid the odd effect created by the wide lower black areas on the front and rear bumpers. They looked awful as Harris drove a yellow car around.

I forgot to mention: Rev's scepticism about whether they'd do anything to change the rear bumper treatment on future facelifts looks to be ill-founded... they already have (a couple of weeks ago)!

They've done what others have suggested on the sport design package and I can't imagine they've done it for any other reason than negative reaction to the initial design - they don't usually move the number plate on sports bodykits

Image

Anyway - I think they've actually still done a shit job. the plate is where it should be now but clearly they couldn't easily do anything with the rest of the back end so it doesn't really all tie in properly. It would still be a must have option for me though.

Dark colour and black sports exhausts is better still.

You could have posted it in the thread with proper pics of the pre-arselifted 992 for comparison. ;)

ETA: to be helpful rather than just snarky....

Having watched the video, I like it a lot more now.

The standard ‘backside’ seems less of an issue when seeing the car on the move. The engine even sounds quite nice.

Mine in green please.

The front bumper is nastier than the rear in the video, but fortunately the Sports Design kit alters that too. And doesn't include the side skirts (which I think are fussy) so win/win.
