I was blissfully unaware of NATO straps but if that is a typical example I am definitely in the "looks a bit shit" camp. So essentially they are like Animal straps but less practical?

Ah, not that kind! I probably weigh in about the same as that lads left leg! Animal did a fie range of watches a long time ago with velcro straps that stopped your timepiece flying off mid kung fu move!

Hard to believe a 90s fashion velcro watch strap is being compared to a military issue strap from a quarter of a century earlier
