The greens deciding not to run a candidate in Clacton has given bluesky leftists something to argue about today

They've always got something to argue about

Farage probably thinks "Crown Steward and Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds" comes with a bigger expenses budget...
Bet he adds it to his Linked In Profile

Looks like a 2 horse race between Binface and Frogface, the grown up parties waiting for the next inevitable by-election.

Hoping they all vote Binface, just to show what a farce British politics has become.

“What is your appeal to the people of Clacton?”
“I’m not Nigel Farage.”

An awful lot of comments online about Binface being boring now. I like him. He's part of what makes our constitution great and a worthy successor to Screaming Lord Sutch.

I agree, it's about time politicians focused on real issues such as hand dryer placement in pub toilets.

I heard this live, and the pause after this was great, and hilarious.
And to be fair you would think that might be enough to win for bin.

I'd love it if out of the, what is it, 35,000 voters there (?) that there's a low tunout due to lack of 'competition', and maybe 5000 voted for Binface, and 7000 voted for farage.
Barely scraped keeping yer seat from a man with a bin on his head, eh? Right, lets back to your parliamentary standards investigation then....
It would fucking ruin him and be great fodder for interviews going forward, seeing as no-one seems to ask how a privately educated investment banker who's spent his career near as damn it fraudulently claiming huge expenses and getting multi-million pound "gifts" from dodgy crypto weirdos and convicted fraudsters could possibly style himself 'a man of the people'

I looked it up yesterday, 78k total, about 45k voted - 21k reform.
Surely the turn out for 2 candidates (unless more independents stand) when Faragaes popularity is at an all time low is going to be even less - 15k total? less?

It's an unqualified, joke candidate with no real manifesto - versus a man with a bin on his head.
Re turnout, I'd not like to speculate, Reform have a pretty cult following - as in, their leader has formed a cult of personality for the simple minded to go along with - so it might be higher than you think.

Given that Farage once lost to a man dressed as a dolphin, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that history could repeat itself. Hell, if I lived in Clacton, I'd vote for Binface.

Imagine if we went through the whole thing and Count Binface won, then he lifted his helmet to reveal…
….Boris.

Surely it should be his own father, the one that abandoned him when he was a young boy.
