I think Gareth Jones (Gaz Top) should get a shot at it. He's been running a pretty good motoring podcast for a while and he's obviously an experienced TV presenter.

I did not intentionally criticise MLB though, just queried the gushing and over effusive description given.

If that is indeed a forum rule why am I being singled out for my comment when the thread is full of people criticising TV presenters and radio DJs?

Maybe they could go with Ant and Dec (or which ever one got caught drink driving, or the other one I still don’t know which is which).

They have recently shoehorned Jo Whiley into the Simon Mayo show on R2 and it is now TERRIBLE.

FWIW I think it's a great shame Joey is leaving, but I completely understand his reasons. And I agree that it would be nice if they didn't constantly make Harris the butt of the jokes. Maybe move Harris up to front-man, bring someone in as his protege, and move RR to tea-boy?

Grimshaw would be a consideration as he fits the token homosexual brief, or a lady in a wheelchair, that lass from The Office perhaps.

On a serious note I think Harry would be perfect but it would bring it back to be too much of a car show rather than an entertainment show featuring cars and the BBC wouldn't want that.

If you read back through my posts it is not something I tend to indulge in though. I was having a go at the description, not the man. Can you have a go at all the others in this thread as well in the interests of parity as there seem to be many posts specifically doing what you are saying you hate.

Catchpole is a good shout but they'll be after "something for the ladies". I'm not qualified to comment on that.

Matthew the White was good because he knew his stuff, was enjoying himself, joined in with the dicking about, had charisma out the wazoo and was "something for teh ladies".
