I like Beans on Cheese on Toast, a bit of black pepper. Ratio of 1 tin to 2 slices of toast (medium toasted, lightly toasted is too floppy when soaks up the bean juice and well done, sauce does not soak in well enough). I prefer seeded wholemeal, but 50/50 or white is okay. Sourdough does not soak up bean juice well enough. Toast has to be square sliced to make it easier to place beans evenly across the toast. I usually use a thin layers of butter or spread.
Branston is my favorite, Aldi 2nd.
Heinz are too soft and go mushy in our pans very easy, and the sauce does not taste of tomatoes at all, just sugar and salt.
All the budget tins are far too watery.
Jen likes to mix tinned plum tomatoes. Wrong, wrong wrong.

After breaking silence over his favourite baked beans on Tuesday 24-Sep-24, @16vCento was today revealed to be a potential OUTLIER when compared to a survey performed by the UK's most trusted public adviser company organisationification : "WHICH?"
Mr 16vCento, who drives a Jaguar XFS and lives in a house, was said to have rocked established forum members earlier in the week with his bold bean-based claims, but today his authority on the matter comes under some scrutiny following the ruthless counter-posting of a link without comment by fellow forum member @IanF.
'Cento's insistence that the UK's best beans herald from the houses of M&S and Sainsbury's respectively have been vehemently rebuked by Britain's hoi poilo, who rated Sainsbury's a mere 7th, and M&S's offering LAST. With his reputation teetering in the balance, 'Cento is likely to stress that his rating for Branston remains almost perfectly aligned with that of broader public opinion. Whether that is enough to save him remains to be seen.
Mr 'Cento was unavailable for comment, but Mr IanF issued a statement :"I'll eat any old crap. The best thing about them for me is when you subsequently break wind and it sounds like a Merlin-engined Spitfire. The supercharger-esque whistle-y overtone is really tricky to achieve without risking a follow-through though" he quipped, before turning and running off into the distance with his arms stretched wide.
A sauce close to the forum revealed "Yeah I know my username sounds like I should be an expert, but I'm just an IT geek. Fuck off".

I was gonna say "Good Lord man, you need a creative outlet of some kind", then I realised
this place is your creative outlet which is a weird thing to say about a forum with twenty years of history of talking utter bollocks on it (About a quarter of it by me, probably, over all twenty plus years)

However! the article does state that Branston are "The king of beans" but pick M&S because they're better value.

I just find Branston a bit too salty, they are decent, and their beans and sausages are unrivalled (as M&S do not offer such shenanigans).
I shall stick with what are the Golf GTI of beans, wholly competent, welcome at the feasts of both the rich and the poor, polished, yet not overly exuberant, friend of all and enemy of none.
Bean for the masses, this is not just a Bean, it's an M&S Bean.
