Looks like the owners have now been arrested for conspiracy, not sure this would have happened without the huge public outcry.

Good news. If they had sought prior approval for demolition they’d probably have got it; if the owners got someone to set fire to it they’re fucking idiots.

If you really miss the Crooked House, you can take the opportunity to purchase the new most-wonky pub in the UK, the Tilted Barrel, which is up for auction later this month: https://www.cottons.co.uk/current-aucti ... =26&src=40
There's even a video!

In the middle of the countryside, it looks cute and quintessentially british to have a weirdly angled pub.
In a grotty semi housing/industrial area though, it just looks like a fucked up mess that wants tearing down.

The Crooked House was in the middle of a couple of landfill sites which were previously quarries, so other than its own grounds it wasn't in a nice location either. This one in Tipton is only a few miles away. Wonder if it will also be pulled down because converting it into flats would probably be a real challenge. Which was Britain's third wonkiest pub? That could soon have the actua title.

Yes, the glorious british countryside!
(I know it was on old landfill, but at least it was surrounded by trees and out of the way a bit)
