I started cutting my own hair (what there is of it) in lockdown 1. Grade 3 all over, have a trimmer on which you can angle the head to do it all in the mirror.
But it never looks quite as good as a scissor cut, in particular I always have wispy bits at the back that the trimmers don't seem to get.
That said, it beats the usual £15-20 and going to the barbers, waiting, cutting, walking back that takes about 45 mins all told.

I had my hair cut today.
I trust we can therefore draw a line under this thread.

But did you get them to wax your nose hair? And what brand did they use?

Classic - remember it well 'flob'. Now there's a word you don't hear anymore.
On topic, my wife cuts my hair. But then she is a hairdresser.

My wife cuts my hair, too. But I have to switch to the left hand to get around the back of my head with the shaver.

I'm having to find a new barber. Had a great place at the end of the road, but sadly he had to sell up due to injury. New owners are neither as good, nor as friendly. This is a serious problem!

My youngest got his hair cut today, he now has a mullet.
I don’t know what’s worse, Mullet or Vegan ?
Dave!

Mullet, feeding vegans can be challenging. If you get sick of the mullet you can just shave it off in his sleep

I bought my first Wahl clippers nearly 30 years and never looked back
I recently bought a Remington RX7 to 'completely' shave my head (it's not razor-close, but close enough to that)
It's great!
Can use it wet or dry, it collects all the clippings (so it's nice and clean to use) - way more convenient than the old "leaning over the side of the bath with a mirror and Wahl clippers"

I note that the cutting mechanism is rotary as opposed to reciprocating.

I see what you did there

I feel like a weirdo now for doing it in the sink, in front of a mirror, and as I shave it irregularly, putting a carrier bag (flat, on it's side) in the sink to capture the trimmings as my hair tends to grow out a bit before I get around to shaving it back.
Roll up bag, put in another bag, put in bin, done.
I might look into one of those things though and start just maintaining it properly rather than breaking out the clippers when my hair starts to annoy me

@Beany I used to always shave my head with the Wahl blades at their shortest setting, and with no comb attached
However, a very small amount of growth means I was having to do it every week, to keep it looking that short
I decided to just go all-in and take it all off with one of these head shavers
What I've found is now I tend to shave my head every other day, however, it takes a couple of minutes, makes no mess etc, and overall is way easier doing it more frequently than the "old" way
