Monday will be clear down too, but looking forward to getting the time back later. The after party for staff is supposed to be epic🤞
8-) What's the update on leaving everything behind for a new life @mr_jon? Survive the winter in tact? ;)

Joining them later with my son after his GCSE exam.
What a fabulous family weekend culminating in me missing James and spending last night in A&E with my son. A scuffle broke out amongst his mates after a couple of ciders and he's broken his collarbone.

How he's going to do the remaining GCSEs and more importantly to him a football trial for the local youth team with his good hand strapped to his chest I don't know 😂

Off to empty the motorhome and a few cold ones to wind down.

Smashed through the Bermondsey beer mile on Saturday and it's a damn good laugh, we hit 17 bars in total. All of the bars are really well set-up for it, including serving one-third, half, two-third or full pints, meaning that you can vary your pace depending on own tolerance, or try out some of the more spicy ABVs. Loads of great beers along the way, plus some great weather made it all the nicer too.

17 is good going - the last couple of times I've done it I've ended up completely smashed and doing daft things after about 8-10. It is a great day out though - especially with the sun out.

Holding it all together after 6 to 8 is definitely a challenge  we'd planned the day with military precision to hit the entire list, which required hammering through the first six bars at 20-minute intervals. Really doesn't leave much time. Suffice to say half pints were more than enough

Beany wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 10:18 am I think I'm gonna tinker with the car a little - I can fix the rattle in the passenger door, and I've recently 'realised' that my moods been exceptionally poor the last few months and I'm starting to come out the bottom of the valley, so I might try to push that by
Clearing the car out so I have space to do tip runs so I can
clear the house out a bit so that I can
Rearrange things in the house a bit so that everything is a bit easier to maintain.

I'll probably only get a third of that done, but the way my head regularly is, that's better than nowt so I won't grumble
I have got none of this done 8-)

Camping trip to Somerset this weekend. Jam and clotted cream scones in front on the pantheon at Stourhead gardens was one highlight, think my mates and I are getting old.

Buy a new jigsaw (my old Bosch one died - cordless De Walt makes most sense as I already have the batteries etc) - Yep
Minor repairs and restain of the decking steps from the conservatory. - Nope
Cleaning and conditioning the roof of the Boxster - Nope
Changing the front pads on the Boxster (got a bargain set of Brembos from GSF for £75 - seemed rude not to) - Nope
Clean, polish and wax the Boxster - Nope
Acquire and lay some railway sleepers for the front garden - Yep
New membrane for front garden - Mostly
General garden tidy up - Nope
Watch the F1 - Yep
Not the most successful weekend due to Max having abdominal pain and a high temperature. Turns out it was an ear infection and trapped wind rather than appendicitis. As a result everything got pushed out of whack due to spending Sunday at the doctors followed by A & E. A course of antibiotics and a mild laxative and he's right as rain. Just as well as we're off on holiday on Saturday.

He has a bladder issue and possibly pneumonia too…
Prostate Cancer…🙁

It’s small, localised and doesn’t appear to have spread anywhere else. Biopsy tomorrow and then we’ll know the treatment he needs.

Small mercy’s really. If he hadn’t felt unwell working in the sun, he might have gone another 6 months before getting anything checked

Bugger all the same though…

Ah no, that's crap @dinny_g, but positive that it sounds treatable.

My mum came out of hospital yesterday, despite saying they wanted to keep her in until they'd worked out what's wrong, they haven't figured it out yet. More tests coming in a week or so.

Very odd to read this now. She passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening. Still processing it really, but we're doing ok on the whole. My sister has been amazing at getting things organised.
