Still awaiting official response from BMW. However its booked in to Peter Vardy for Wednesday so i took it down there today at lunchtime and took one of their technicians out in the car. He has confirmed that there is an actual issue that is not a characteristic of the vehicle - No Shit - Fed this back to BMW and awaiting a response.

seems to be no sounds when ive linked that.

Verdict is that it needs the wheels replaced at £3500 and there's an advisory on the front lower suspension arm bushes - slight play. £1200 for those.

Report sent back to BMW. Response promised by Friday on next steps.

Is that all the wheels? Did they actually try a different set?

I'm just a bumpkin, but even I'd look at the amount of weights there and wonder what the fuck is wrong with a wheel that needs that much correction...!

That’s weird that it’s on all 4 wheels. Chocolate wheels or was Ken Block the previous owner?

I think they've fucked them when they've been refurbished. Baked too hot or too long. Or maybe cooled too quickly.

Will you take it back if they fork out for all the work? Or have you lost the joy/faith with it?

Ive got it back. I now need to wait for the decision from BMW as to what happens next.

It looks like it's had a set of tyres and when they balanced them they'd left the old weights on (or some other such ineptitude).

Peel all those weights off, scratch “///M” into the upper surface of each, and I reckon you could sell them via eBay for a total of (up to)

BMW (Arnold Clark) re-balanced them to fix the vibration...

You can balance a wheel on the machine 'til the cows come home, but if it's not circular it'll never drive right. You could balance an egg.
