The picture of the gate's getting a bit tiresome
The mrs has had it on since before I got in. The constant inane drivel soon drove me mad

Pretty much absolutely nailed the job of Queen.
Sad day but not unexpected.

One incredible constant throughout all our lives. An incredible reign, unwavering, loyal, gracious and humble. RIP

Looks like I was right.
I'm not a Royalist by any means but I'm amazed at how sad I feel at the death of an old lady I never even met. Weird.

She's like a global Grandma figure.
Perfectly put.
It seems right that it was at Balmoral.
R.i.p., Ma'am.

Did Boris Johnson just publish his first (and last) statement that felt sincere?

Through all sorts of times, she managed to retain continuous dignity in the public eye, no mean feat. I for one feel quite privileged to have lived my whole life during her reign, whatever your opinion on the monarchy, I don't think you can deny that she was a good one.
Charles has found some personality in recent years, so hopefully he'll be ok. Doubt he'll be able to fill her boots mind you.

It's incredibly sad. As others have said, she was a constant in most people's lives and it's odd to think of events without her.

The rest of her family are such a stark contrast to her. Feels very odd to see news pages saying “the King”
