Well, I went with my gut and booked another crossing with DFDS last week in the hope that P&O would cancel the crossing, which they just have. They were using other companies to complete their bookings, but you had to turn up and hope to get on and I wanted no part of that on Easter half term!

To be fair, they are offering a full refund and are paying the difference for the new booking. Slim chance of getting on another ferry if you've left it this late though! They've also given me a free crossing valid for a year, so I've no idea how they're going to save any money - even in the long run.

I'm guessing they were banking on nobody paying attention or caring.

I wouldn't be surprised if the owners are quietly stripping any value out of the company while maintaining the pretense that they're a functioning business. It'll be up for sale as a zombie business by the end of the year.

They would have been checked on how to start the engines, black start from a total power outage etc and they wouldn’t have had a clue.

I can't say a lot on this for contactual reasons, but the systems will actually work well once completed but this isn't due until at least 2027 all being well.

Obviously a massive step backwards for exporters compared to pre Brexit, but on the plus side its great for contractors making shit loads in IT.

I'm sat in Calais right now, and there are no queues at all. In fact, my 6.00pm just got pushed back an hour as there's only about 60 cars here, so they loaded it with trucks instead.

The M20 shitshow is purely down to customs thanks to Brexit. Fuck all to do with P&O.
