I watched the golf this morning. There was a 7 way play off for bronze which was exciting. The commentators on BBC were absolutely horrific so as soon as Casey and Rory were out I switched if off. The play off was over 3 holes until someone won - the lady on each hole said they were all going back to the tee..... every time which was incorrect.
The high jumpers sharing the medal was super. And woman long jumper could have hopped into the next universe her legs were that long - great wr.

Charles J Haughey - ex Prime Minister of Ireland
Some highlights
- conspired to illegally import arms into NI in 1969, as then Finance Minister l, so that Catholics could defend themselves against the British Army. Found innocent in Irish Courts on a technicality and 4 years later, became PM
- as a Gov Minister, earning £45k per year but buying a £2.5million house… oh and buying a private Island, worth millions, for £70k and then immediately leasing it back to the Irish nation for £80k per year for Army Training. But never allowing any training.
- Appearing on National TV in the late 70’s as Pm during a massive Recession to say “As a nation, we are living way beyond our means and this has to stop”… wearing a £7000 shirt from Chavet in Paris that the Tax Payer had paid for.
And many more - the guy was the most dishonest politician in the entire history of dishonest politicians
But kept getting elected

Happened to switch on for the 49er sailing race this morning with breakfast, it was brilliant, came down to within inches for gold and they got it done.

Saw that last night. Do the ropes give them quite a bit of support? They really ought to be totally slack until the climber slips.

Seem to have been a lot of records broken on the track this Olympics. Is it down to the shoes as Karsten Warholm says? And what is going on with the times being adjusted, presumably for wind; was that always the case?

It’s down to both shoes and the track surface is a bit more springy. The times have been adjusted for as long as I can remember.
