We've been enjoying our tier 2 status with dinner and a few beers at the pub. Very nice indeed!!

Good news all: we've finished the goose. Leftovers were had in sandwiches, and a Cassoulet.

A bit of duck left, and cooking the gammon tomorrow.

I completely forgot to get cheese today. I'm annoyed by this as I was dreaming of cheese last night after the second bottle of wine.

Perhaps tomorrow, a quieter day, I'll remember. Except it'll be a bank holiday, so everywhere will be closed.

Fuck.

So did I Beany...

I’m currently trying to get excited about crackers and common or garden cheddar. It’s just not the same. I’ve even tried to inject Jalapeños into the mix to liven things up but it’s not working

We've ended up with far too much cheese (again). Have 13 (discounting the cream cheese) different options.

Would a 350 mile round trip to collect a few slices of spare cheese from a random stranger off the internet count as an essential journey???

Only if you also take a pot of homemade Christmas chutney and some freshly baked sourdough.

Brexit voter is in the pot, glaze is made, jackets ready to go in the oven and I'm contemplating a drink.

Once again my high level approach to recipes has led to unexpected extras. Didn't check the quantity of gammon in the recipe I was following, so bought what it said. We've now got four liters of ginger ale going spare. Also made a coleslaw to give us something bright and crunchy to wash down the rest with.

Shut the fuck up or I'll come round and bum your cat.

Anyway, got some stilton tonight, 200g block of it, nothing fancy.

About three crackers in I stopped being shy about it and just started tearing chunks out of it with my fingers.

Got through about 3/4 of it before feeling a bit ill  and am washing it down with some cheap shiraz.

I am now very happy.

Edit: And very tired. Christ, it's only half past seven....is stilton a sedative?

Used my MEATER+ in the apricot jammed Gammon last night.

Best gammon I’ve ever cooked. Aslong as you keep an eye on it as the expected cooking time changed quite quickly it came out absolutely perfect.

Dave!

First attempt at Paella today. Went okay. Rice was a bit under, but rest (sea food) was spot on. Followed by chocolate fondue from which I'm feeling just a bit overwhelmed. Kids loved it though, had bought some sweets to dip alongside fruit and biscuits.

Got a link to the recipe or is it just a gammon smothered in apricot jam before cooking it? :)
We have both in the fridge currently so they may make a good combination.
