That black one I posted a link to recently was subtle, and would be where my money went - but it’s not what I’d buy for driving round the Nurburgring.

I wish it had 10k miles already and was £10k cheaper. Clearly I’m going to have to swallow ‘mileage depreciation’ again, same as the gt4

The only thing that would bother me about using a 600LT as a track car is damaging the tub. Am I right or wrong with the assumption that you could write the chassis off relatively easily?

IIRC track insurance - and insurance companies have long since twigged that the Nurburgring is not a public road - has a huge excess, like 10% or something. So while the insurance may well pay out, you’re still on the hook for a big chunk.

I get the Nurburgring experience and all that but have you considered racing?

How about racing at the Nurburgring in an 600LT? That ticks all boxes!

I suspect that campaigning a McLaren is a fairly expensive hobby.

I’ve been thinking about this all day and I think the reason I’m not drawn to it is that I generally don’t like group activities. That might sound odd to some but it’s generally how I conduct myself

It’s about as solo as you can get, I like fast cars but racing added a different dimension of fun to cars for me, and when the flag drops the bullshit stops

600LT is a great car, but the correct answer is always a 991.2 manual GT3

The interest on you loan are rather high.
I've financed part of my M2 and I'm paying less than 1% (in Belgium). Current rate without shopping around is about 1.25%.

Regarding running on the ring. I'm also in a bit of a dilemma.
The M2 is rather expensive (for me at least) to chuck it in a hedge.
So I will probably do less and slower ring laps than I would like.
Perhaps buying something a little lower on your personal finance ladder, but exploiting it some more, is in fact the way to go.

Have you ever considered flying to the ring and renting something nice?
For instance Apex has a nicely fitted M4.
At first glance, it looks expensive.
However, when you start to calculate all costs involved, the prices they charge are certainly fair.

He's also from Scotland, so he also has access to some of the best roads in the world. I suspect it's not just about the 'ring.
