simon_g wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 1:37 pm Nice. Really liked my M135i, and the autobox is brilliant (had DSGs before and after, not as good).

Approved, despite having the second best colour (first is Valencia Orange, obvs).
I wanted a Valencia Orange M240i but they are hens teeth in the spec i was looking for. At the time there was only one for sale in the country and it was priced at £12k more than i paid for mine!

Nearly forgot that the essential tyre purchase is the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport (when you can get them). Awesome tyre and far better than the MPSS and PS4 that I've had on mine.

Thanks, that's a handy tip.

I thought the PS4 was the best tyre evah though (according to the internets)

These are a step up. Same level as the PS4S

I think they're great and the best tyre I've had on my car.

Don't forget to try the party trick:

Sport+
Manual gears
Pull for 2nd
Release brake
Mash throttle

It has launch control but it's shit - this is a much quicker and more exciting way to emergency start from some lights. :)

TIC 👍

Or systems off, gear selector to the left, left foot on brake, right foot on plenty of throttle to light them up, pull 2nd slowly release brakes and leave 11's and maybe pull third for longer ones 😂

I'm sure doing 11s in a straight line is possible without 8-)

With systems off it has an e-diff but not an LSD. 11's no problem with power/torque that's available

If they’re both equally loaded then they’ll both spin even with a completely open diff. Not so effective if there’s any cornering going on at the same time

Not like the old days with a live axel which itself was trying to lift one wheel off the ground due to torque twist for a proper one tyre fire.

Yeah that makes sense. I’ve never really thought about how an open diff would work differently with independent suspension over a live axle tbh.

Not sure if this will embed properly, but here's a quick pic snapped when the car was delivered:

I find the Launch Control on the 2 works well. Ill try your variation though for a direct comparison.

The photo's on Google Photos so it may be a permissions problem

Do people here have a preferred free photo sharing solution?

Matt's even added a photo gallery on here, but I use imgur these days. Easy to upload straight from my phone, various different sizes available to link which deals with some forums restricting photo sizes which can be posted.
