I'd be struggling with the curiosity of going to check the clutch.

My excellent 3 point post goes unanswered. Until that's addressed there's no point in continuing this thread.

If you have the keys I think I'd just go put them in the ignition and let fate deal with someone elses problem for you.

People are certainly weird.

OK, I think I can beat that for oddness. I once sold a proper shitbox Sierra for £150 out of my parents' house.
Deal was organised but the people didn't show up. Waited a coupole of hours but then went home. At about midnight, my folks get a call saying they are still coming but got lost, so my mum went out to find them. At this point it was looking a bit iffy, as she was met by a car 4-up with south London rudeboys, but all took a turn for the normal - they paid the cash, signed the V5 and drove away (V5 signed in the name of "Marshall Sherman"!)

Then at 3am, my folks were woken by the cops at the door. Apparently, Mr. Sherman and his associates left with the crappy car, filled it up with petrol and drove off from the petrol station, then drove to Heathrow and abandoned it in the Drop Off lane. Folks showed the police the V5 and the sale receipt and that's the last we ever heard of it.

People do strange things...

I know taxis to Heathrow can be expensive, but that seems like an excessively complex workaround.

And if you think THAT was a weird evening.

Meet Beany.

How strange. Although the image of Dan and this bloke crouched either side of the front door posting car keys back and forth it amusing to say the least.

"I'm not staying in this car with you all this way, I'll buy the cheapest car I can find in a local paper and drive that to Heathrow instead. Drop me off at that newsagent"

Makes perfect sense. Still no idea about Dan's

Has anyone heard from Dan since this? I fear he may be part of some new bridge foundations around the M25 area...

You mean that untaxed car that's sitting outside your house on the public road? Someone might tell HMRC about that and the owners could get a nasty fine.

Or report it abandoned to the council. Out of interest have you checked the vin number to check it’s the same car and not a dodgy clone?
